    I’ve done that before. I get some good pork belly scraps at my job and just toss ‘em right in the deep fryer.

    The Fresh Market in Mazatlan near the El Cids has a really nice chicharone en verde that is quite tasty. Works really well as either a sopa or on top of rice.

    I’ve added them for ages, but while I like it I’ve never considered it as a pork belly substitute, because nothing replaces pork belly. 🐖

    I buy the UTZ strips because they’re thicker and hold up better in broth, and as I type this I have an order on the way of the Golden Flake pork skins super strips chili lime and the Curly Q’s.

    Most of these “ramen” should just be eaten with rice since we just get pictures of ridiculous amount of toppings and minimal broth

    Maybe it’s just because I don’t like chicharrones, but i think I’d like them even less when they’re soggy
